For the past 48 weeks, Battle Video Archives poster and Don’t Flop battler Suus has been compiling a list of the week’s most buzzed-about rap battles and taking a community poll to figure out which battle RapMusic thought was worth taking some Bawls to the face in anticipation of a late night battle release for. The four winners of each month are pitted against each other for battle of the month and those twelve winners will go at it to determined which rap battle was truly miles above its peers in terms of quality, memorability, and popularity. For the week of November 18th, posters chose Don’t Flop’s DNA vs Sensa as the surprise elementary school pizza party of battle rap.
For the week of November 25th, it’s a pretty even field, despite Smack/URL’s Cortez vs Tay Roc taking the early lead with a 19-point spread over this past week’s next most viable contender. Coming in second is Don’t Flop’s Dekay vs Uno Lavoz, followed by a three-way tie between Loud Mouth’s George Jetson vs Double/Deuce, King of the Dot’s Tycoon Tax vs Bulle, and a newly invigorated Grindtime’s Tru Logik vs Money Bagz. Bars on deck like a cruise ship, sure, but can the bottom three gain enough traction, respectively, to overtake Don’t Flop’s standout battle of the sexes – which itself has a way to overcome the sheer brand power of the Ultimate Rap League – or are this week’s polls already a done deal? Want to shake up the status quo? Want to ironically vote for the underdog? Head to the official “RM Battle of the Week” thread and chime in yourself.
