eminem  Eminem not taking the stage at DNC convention, Common Is Eminem is not known for getting wrangled in politics so it was a major surprise when a Charlotte, North Carolina TV station claimed that the rapper would be performing during the Democratic National Convention. Charlotte TV station WCNC reported on its website Thursday that Eminem would be performing with Nicki Minaj during the convention.

The rapper’s publicist, Dennis Dennehy, shot down the report when contacted by MLive Detroit. “Not happening,” Dennehy told Mlive Detroit. The Democratic National Convention will be held in Charlotte from Sept. 4-6.

One rapper who has been confirmed to perform at the convention is Common. The Chicago rapper will perform at an event dubbed the “Presidential Convention Charity Benefit” on Tuesday Sept. 4 at the Fillmore concert venue in Charlotte, N.C.

In related news, Eminem is currently helping Slaughterhouse gear up to release their sophomore album Welcome to: Our House. Eminem signed the group to his Shady Records label last year and has produced several cuts on the forthcoming project. He will also be serving the set’s executive producer.

Welcome to: Our House will be available on August 28.  The album will feature appearances from Eminem, Skylar Grey, Busta Rhymes, Cee-Lo Green, Swizz Beatz, and B.O.B. Prior to the release of Welcome to: Our House, the four lyricists plan will release a Gangsta Grillz mixtape with DJ Drama titled On The House.
