No Coast and Battle America presents T-Rex vs G-Souldier

VDMIIday1 No Coast and Battle America presents T Rex vs G SouldierMissouri is home to the St. Louis Rams, Nelly, your humble author, and several of the biggest names in the current acapella era of battle rap. It also contains one of the most singular and interesting battle leagues in existence, No Coast.

A by-fans-for-fans league, it combines the sort of zany sideshow/”character” rappers you’d find at an open mic (Tim the Boneman) with tested vets (Jonny Storm, D-Lor, Madness) and promising up and comers (Mr. Biscuit, Mudslinger, Mainpheste DestNE) all within the confines of the least traveled venues for such an edgy niche expression of hip-hop…a liberal arts college.

Anything can happen at a No Coast event, but no matter what it’s bound to be fun and done in good spirit. This past weekend the league, known and sometimes criticized in its three-year existence for its accessibility to novices and non-rappers, expanded to a three day mega-event with several vets in attendance, live performances, and more.

Two of those vets went head to head on the super-stacked “Valentines Day Massacre” card, STL vet G-Souldier and Smack/GT/Battle America vet of 10+ years, Dot Mob’s T-Rex. What went down was a dope one-round battle that contained easily one of the best rounds in recent memory. Check out the battle, the trailer for the rest of the battles on the event card, and links for No Coast updates and info below.
